About Laura Harring

Compared to Legendary Hollywood movie stars like Rita Hayworth and Ava Gardner for her role in Mulholland Drive directed by David Lynch, Laura Harring has gone on to enjoy a successful acting career in which she has appeared in films opposite John Travolta, Javier Bardem, William Hurt, Denzel Washington, and Emma Roberts. Prior to beginning her acting career, Laura Harring attended Switzerland’s Aiglon College, one of the most esteemed schools in the world.

Following completion of her studies, Laura Harring began traveling the hills of the Himalayas. Laura carried rocks at 5AM and did manual labor work often working through the afternoon, and helping the villagers have a better quality of life. Laura Harring then traveled the world and spent a year backpacking throughout Asia and Europe, sometimes teaching yoga and sleeping on a sleeping bag on the open beach before eventually returning to Texas. These travels made Laura grateful and changed her forever. Upon returning home, she made a complete turnaround that guided her to be discovered in Hollywood by entering and winning the Miss El Paso pageant, the Miss Texas and eventually winning and becoming Miss USA. As Miss USA Laura Harring visited hundreds of hospitals, orphanages and senior citizen homes, veteran's hospitals, opening her heart to those less fortunate. Then when Laura Harring met and married Count Carl von Bismarck, Laura attended countless galas and dinners, cocktails throughout the world, helping numerous groups in need. Although fun, Laura has always preferred the more personal way of lending a helping hand. Her philosophy is that all is good as long as it is coming from a loving heart.

Laura Harring has worked with the David Lynch Foundation as a Goodwill ambassador, lent her support to Children Uniting Nations and travelled to Africa with Stop Hunger Now. Laura loves acting because movies and tv shows allow people to forget their problems, feel good, laugh or be touched to cry.
