How a Healthy Lifestyle Can Lead to a Happier Life

Laura Harring began her acting career with a starring role in David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, a film that earned the title of The Best Film of the 21st Century in a 2016 BBC survey. Mulholland Drive won Best Movie of the 21st Century in multiple polls.

Outside of her work in movies, Laura Harring follows a healthy lifestyle in both mind and body, a pursuit which she believes contributes to a more positive outlook and happier life.

There is scientific research to back up this idea, as well. For example, what people eat can impact the way that their brain cells function, which also has an impact on one’s mood. One study showed that people who followed a Mediterranean diet, rich in whole foods and fatty acids, showed one-third fewer symptoms of depression compared to those who did not consume a diet of vegetables, whole grains, olive oil, and fish. Additionally, eating healthy, whole foods can lead to weight loss, which elevates mood and makes individuals feel more positively about their self-image.

Another way that a healthy lifestyle contributes to happiness is through the effects of exercise. Exercise has been shown to reduce feelings of stress and anxiety, boost confidence levels, and help individuals get better sleep, all of which lead to a greater sense of contentment. Furthermore, incorporating group exercise activities can help people connect with others. Research shows that people who socialize and form friendships with their peers, express an overall higher level of happiness in their lives.

Through her travels Laura Harring learned that not only are diet and exercise important for happiness and health, but a positive mindset as well. A mindset she learned through numerous teachers during her travels, and a view which Laura Harring expresses and shares through her Social Media pages.

The Making of the Movie Drool

Laura Harring’s breakout role as the mysterious “Rita” in David Lynch’s atmospheric masterpiece Mulholland Drive brought her much critical acclaim. Compared and likened to glamorous stars of another era, Rita Hayworth and Ava Gardner, Laura Harring carries the mystery that audiences love and the camera adores. Harring’s take on her femme fatale character has haunted audiences for over a decade and fans still talk about it in social media and chat rooms across the internet. Mulholland Drive was recently voted The Best Movie of the 21st Century in multiple polls.

Laura Harring won an Outfest Award as Outstanding Actress for her portrayal of an abused wife on the run in Nancy Kissam’s 2009 indie comedy Drool. Kissam was a first-time director when she helmed the movie, which she also wrote. The screenplay for the film had generated considerable buzz before shooting began and eventually won a Slamdance competition. Drool was shot in August while Louisiana was having a heat wave, the rented trailers had faulty air conditioners that didn’t work, therefore the actors were soaking wet because of the humidity and had no where to sit, making filming the movie intense. Drool went on to garner a couple of awards for the star of the movie, Laura Harring.
